カムイノミー「神に祈る」という意味で、アイヌ民族が、神格であるカムイを天界に帰す儀式

山の猟に入る前、海や川での漁に取りかかる前、また結婚式や葬式など人生の節々や、家を建てた際のアシリチセノミ（新築祝）、地震や津波、洪水などの天災の時など生活の中の様々な場面で行われた。 　カムイノミは、イオマンテ（熊の霊送り）のように他のコタン（村・集落）からも人々が大勢集まるような儀式であるアシリチェプノミ、さらに個人的に行う ものまでその規模も様々である。やり方は、ヤナギなどを削ってイナウ（御幣）を作り、火をおこしてイナウでトノト（お神酒）をふりかけながら順々に神々に 願う。最初は、必ず火の神（アペフチカムイ）に祈りを捧げる。 　カムイノミ　祝詞

Chatterjee is the son of Indian sitar player Parthapratim Chatterjee and Susmita Chatterjee. He studied at Calcutta Boys' School and did his graduation in English Literature from Presidency College, Kolkata.

When he was 12 years old, he gave his first sitar recital in Switzerland. He was taught by his father Parthapratim Chatterjee, a disciple of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Chatterjee has designed the DWO, which is a doppelganger of the Indian sitar.

He has performed as a solo artist and as a part of the groups Shastriya Syndicate and Stringstruck. He is also a vocalist and has performed in duet with Shankar Mahadevan (Dwo - from the album Stringstruck).

Purbayan's music has been appreciated by jazz artists Chick Corea, Béla Fleck, and Pat Metheny, who describes him as an "outstanding musician". He has performed several times with tabla artist Ustad Zakir Hussain.

He played at espranade concert hall, Singapore yesterday.
He played Bihag and Karyani and then Mishra Bairav.

He was really good at catching the mood of Mishra Bhairavi.  Maybe it is hard to play 3 ragas in one concert for any parson..
He was just really perfect in the rythm and his voice.

In the first Bihag, He played full raga from aarab.  I didn't know that the sitar could sound so happy like this.

数年前歌を書くのには誰か近くの人の為に書くのが結果的に多くの人の共感を得るという話を読んだ。
創作活動をする理由と、生きる理由は似ている。人の顔色を伺って周りの人の気持ちばかり考えるとびくびくした人柄に見えるし本当の心は分からない。

自分の為に作品を作ることができれば人の評価を気にしなくていいから自分の価値観を強く出せる。でも今の世の中はそういう幅広い人格を受け入れる包容力に欠けているから、自分だけの価値観で生きている人を受け入れるには付加価値が必要だ。
シンガポールのように社会や政府に包容力がないと、いくらお金をかけても国内から芸術は育ちにくい。いくら自分の価値を持って生きて、作品をつくっていても、仲間と見られなければチャンスが来ないからだ。
結果的に芸術は社会全体が作るもので、社会がその時の芸術を選んでいる。

他人から愛してほしい、自分を満たしてほしいと常に考えている人達の社会では、その基準を表面的に満たしている作品や人を選ぶ。

社会や人が成熟してくれば、自分の価値を持って、本当に見定めるということができるようになる。

だから今人の顔色を伺って生きている人でそれに違和感を持っている人は、未来の社会に適した人かもしれない。

昨日はコンサートを企画した。演奏せずに企画するのもとても楽しい。心に余裕があるし、始終楽しく居られる。こんな気持ちで演奏できたらいいのに、本当は人前であがる。もう全部キャンセルして帰りたいけど体が動かない、自由のない気持ちになる。
わるいことは、今日応募したビデオがコンテストの一次審査に通らなかったというニュースだ。どんなものです通ったためしがない。

時代は徳川前期、主人公の侍は家禄百五十石の「使い番」と設定された。朝起きて、顔を洗い髭を剃り月代（さかやき）を剃り、奥女中が髷（まげ）を結い妻が着替えを手伝う。祖先の廟に礼拝し、供を連れて城へ上がる。

城では藩主が決定した命令事項を寺社奉行に伝えたり勘定奉行に 伝えたりと、忙しく執務に追われるが、昼に詰め所で同じ家禄の馬廻り組の友人と弁当を広げてほっと息をつき、世間話をするのがお互いの楽しみであった。お かずの品定めをしながら季節の話題から釣りの話、川で鮎を追った幼少の思い出など話に花が咲く。主人公には一男二女、友人は子だくさんで三男二女がおり、 お互いの子同士の縁組みを思案したりと平穏で幸せな暮らしが先々まで望めた。

午後になって、参勤交代の資金調達に問題があることが発覚し、主人公は責任者として切腹を余儀なくされる。昼食を共にした友人は介錯を頼まれ、号泣しながらもこれを引き受ける（ここから先のシーンはラストまで台詞が無い）。

友人の男は、関ヶ原と大坂の陣に先祖が使った刀を藩の研ぎ師に診せ、研ぎ師は藁の束を試し斬りした後、男の前で刀を研ぎ始める。じっと見つめる男。一方で藩の普請方からの差配が足軽を12〜3人連れ、主人公の家へ来て庭の掃除を始める。白砂をしき、青畳二畳分を置いて白布で覆い、座敷に対して三方で幔幕を貼ってその後ろに屏風を逆立ちに立て切腹場をしつらえる。家のある通りには両端に高張り提灯を掲げ、番士が7〜8人、人の子一人通さない。城では暮六つの太鼓が鳴ると、藩主は黙って立ち上がり、死んでいく侍のために仏間へ入る。介錯人となった友人が主人公の家に着き、錦袋に入れた刀を持って家の中へ入っていく。刻々と型通りに切腹の儀が進み、礼装の友人が主人公に刀を振り下ろすと、夕闇に映える山桜の垂れた下枝の葉に飛び散った血が数片かかる。明暦元年乙未四月（1655年）のことであった。

Buddhism also encourages the generation of loving kindness and compassion, the desire for the happiness and welfare of all beings.

I am trying to organize few sound art concert here.  Sound art or experimental music or electro-acoustic, experimental film, video art... like that.  More I watch and listen, I don't understand what is all these.  I might have even enjoyed more when I didn't know all these and went for concert as just concert.  When I first heard this type of music, I heard some expression which I loved.  It kept my attention to each sound more than constructed music.  The tember and intention of the sound was everything.
I started to get confused with the idea of sound art when I started to hear it from 'sound artist' who has more friends with visual artist than musicians.  There is a wall between this artist and musician that doing thing under same category.
It got me even more confused when those sound artist start to play the chords and melody.  I cannot play with them anymore because I have to retune my instrument.  There was the right note and wrong note in this drone chords.
It got me more confused when I heard a dance track with sequenced rythm, melody, the song that was structured like a trance music using sound art materials.  It was a dance music with less ordinary instruments.
It got me most confused when this dance track was most supported among the sound artist.

This is why I want to give up knowing what is sound art.
And giving up made me curious about what is sound art.

昨日アメリカの音楽大学を卒業した友達と話した。ジャズの作曲を勉強していて。大学から帰って来た後は今後の作曲の話とか沢山していた。今はどんなスタイルの音楽がしたいのか分からなくて迷っているという。私も同じ様に思う。色んなスタイルのパフォーマンスをやってみたけど、パフォーマンス自体好きなのか分からない。
死ぬ前に考える事はどれだけ何かを愛せたかということだろうから、実のところ愛の対象ではなく、その自分のエネルギーが自分を救うのだろう。

昨日６カ所くらい店やレストランへ入って気がついたら傘がなかった。それに気がついてから２時間くらいショックだった。電車の中からぼうっと外を眺めた。 悲しかった。途中で安い新しい傘を買ったけどそれでも気分は晴れなかった。あの傘が良かった。いいところばかり思い出して、もう２度とあんな良い傘には巡 り会えないと思う様になった。傘をくれたお母さんのことも考えた。
あの傘の軽さとか、濡れた時の感触とか、柄のスティールの冷たさとか、端についているストラップとか体を通して思い出した。もう今持っているかのように感じた。
もうその時には雨は止んでいた。

家へ帰ってから友達のレストランへメールを送った。今朝返事が来た。
傘があった。

傘があった。

It's really not that big deal..

Trying to play music is political.  Was it the music political all along when villagers all gather to play the song.
People cannot live alone, we really need each other's support in order to sustain the life. If we want to live, we need to be involved in the system that is political because it is based on sharing.
So music is another way of explaining that we cannot live alone.
The fear of death.  The fear that is also bringing ourself closer..

昨日Jayateerth MevundiというHindustani Vocalのコンサートをエスプラネードで見た。カルカッタ出身で多分イスラム教の人だと思う。
テクニックは凄いし、若いから声に張りもあった。でも一番良かったのがラガより最後のポップなバジャンだったのはやはり歌詞やメロディーでカバーできない部分が足りなかったのだと思う。彼はわたしには音楽を演奏してるようには思えなかった。フレーズを歌っているように聞こえた。
タブラの人は始終にこにこしていた。タブラの人が嬉しそうな時は、歌う人のリズムがいい時だ。一緒に演奏できて嬉しいのだ。
あのタブラの人を見て、一年半前見た、カルカッタの人の苦い顔のタブラプレーヤーを思い出した。あんな無茶苦茶なリズムをごまかさせるのは可哀想だった。あの時は見ている人も、歌っている人もなんともすっきりしないコンサートだった。

わたしには歌は練習するほど下手になる気がする。がんばるほど余計なところに力が入ってしまう。適当にやっているときの方が楽しい。上手くなろうというその思いがもう既に執着心なんだと思う。歌は心を試される。
